Year 1 Teacher - Wandsworth
A thriving Wandsworth primary is seeking a warm, creative Year 1 Teacher to lead a Year 1 class from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to collaborative planning prior to January 2026, attend an induction in January 2026, and be teaching from January 2026. We are looking for a Year 1 Teacher who brings energetic phonics delivery, a love of story and imaginative, practical maths to the classroom. The Year 1 Teacher will work with experienced teaching assistants and the phase lead to shape a vibrant start to Key Stage 1.
• Year 1 Teacher - Full-Time role available with a January 2026 start.
• Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly Wandsworth primary - pre-term planning and induction begin January 2026.
• Year 1 Teacher will receive bespoke CPD and mentor support from January 2026.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 1 Teacher will plan and deliver engaging phonics sessions as the Year 1 Teacher; lead guided reading and shared writing as the Year 1 Teacher; design practical maths routines and run targeted interventions as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will assess progress, moderate outcomes with colleagues and communicate with families. The Year 1 Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026, will complete induction in January 2026, and will teach from January 2026.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
We are seeking a reflective Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), strong KS1 practice and confident phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be organised, calm and able to work with a range of learners. Availability for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and a start in post from January 2026 is essential.
