BMS Design Engineer

DBS Required Are you looking for an opportunity to join a growing business leading the way in shaping the future of BMS and Energy Management systems? Our client is looking for an experienced BMS design engineer to provide BMS system designs, and project engineering delivery strategies, for large BMS projects. The BMS design engineer should fully understand the engineering requirements of building control systems for a range of building types, varying in complexity. Candidates will need a thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical building systems and be able to work autonomously. The role will require experience of interpreting customer specifications to develop comprehensive designs and scope packages for individual disciplines including panel design, hardware configuration, field equipment, software configuration, graphic packages as well as installation and commissioning scope. Candidates must also be prepared to work flexibly as part of the team and actively look to utilise modern technologies and best practice. Applicants should have engineering skills as detailed below: Electrical and Mechanical systems and plant knowledge,
BMS system design - Development of the full design from initial scope to handover documentation,
Author BMS control system strategy documents,
BMS hardware and software architecture development and best practice,
Preferably have knowledge of Simens BMS systems.
Competence Significant industry experience in control and automation of building systems
Comfortable in both an office and construction site environment,
Competent in site surveys, working around live plant and equipment,
A detailed understanding of specialist building systems including BMS, Electrical, Mechanical, fire safety and the BMS aspects of building networks.
Experienced in BMS/control system design, software configuration, graphic generation, control panel design,
Knowledge of PLC's, stand-alone controllers, and energy/power control systems,
Experience in coordinating BMS disciplines with multiple external suppliers and subcontract companies,
Excellent IT skills,
An initiative-taker and strong team-player, flexible and able to work effectively without close supervision,
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and able to develop excellent customer/supplier working relationships,
Ability to lead a small team of engineers would be advantageous,
