Senior Product Designer

Converge
London

Construction is one of the most fundamental industries on the planet - just try to imagine human societies without buildings - yet it has also been left behind by the digitalisation revolutions which have transformed other industrial sectors. Construction also accounts for 11% of global carbon emissions, while employing 7% of the global workforce and accounting for 13% of global GDP.

At Converge, we believe that if we are going to be building the cities, structures, and societies of the future then something has to change. We also believe that change will be impossible if you are not measuring what’s actually happening on the ground. That’s why we are building our Physical Intelligence Platform, ConstructionDNA, to help the industry build the future more efficiently, more safely, and more sustainably.

We’re a small but ever-growing team of 54 people with a global outlook, counting 17 nationalities (and even more languages!) among us. As a team, we are passionate about cutting-edge digital innovation and driven by our mission to build the future more efficiently, safely and sustainably. Come join us!

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to help define experiences across our SAAS software and physical products. Product Designers play a vital role here, they help craft and shape our customer experience with Customers, Product and Engineering teams. Do you get excited about building and shipping both usable and scalable SAAS products? Do you enjoy creating delightful experiences that are truly customer focused and create ambitious outcomes for the business? Do you create design solutions that can be easily turned into reality? Do you like to make rapid prototypes to validate with customers? Then come work your magic at Converge!

What will I be doing?

You will,

  • Take SAAS products from zero to one and expand and improve — shaping insight and ideas into prototypes and bringing new experiences to life for ConstructionDNA.
  • Lead user research across customer interviews, usability testing, building insights as you go and running rapid experiments, turning them into product outcomes.
  • Be customer-informed, blending user needs with metrics to guide decisions and measure success.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influencing strategy and aligning stakeholders through clear prioritisation and storytelling.
  • Run concept sprints and rapidly prototype high-fidelity concepts that inspire teams and customers.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, knowing when to move quickly and when to refine the details.
  • Apply your design skills across all our products, making a positive impact in the construction industry.
  • Collaborate with Design Leadership to inform and improve our design culture and ways of working.

Requirements

Please consider applying even if you don’t think you tick everything below.

  • 5yrs+ experience designing digital products and SAAS services, leading user experience, interaction and user interface design, delivering solutions that have elevated customer and user experience.
  • A digital portfolio that reflects your strengths in both UX/UI.
  • Mastery over your design process and methodology, with the desire and ability to help shape ours.
  • Experienced in user research and usability testing best practice, specifically in regards to user-centred design.
  • Experience in hypothesis-driven design, user validation, and defining quick and inexpensive ways of learning and iterating.
  • Expert understanding of how design decisions impact implementation, with the ability to partner closely with engineers to shape the how of delivery, developing interactive prototypes and solutions that are practical, performant, and technically feasible.
  • An expert with Figma, it's our core Design tool at Converge.
  • Expert at utilising Design Systems.

Nice to haves

  • A good understanding of the challenges of working on products that have both digital and physical elements.
  • An understanding of the construction industry and construction technology.

Benefits

  • 25 days + Bank Holidays. We also close over the end of year holiday so you can spend more time with your loved ones.
  • Social Committee and team events during the year so you can have a chance to learn more about the amazing people on our team. We always have family-friendly events too so everyone can join in on the fun.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave So you focus on your new bundle of joy instead of worrying about expenses.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme so you can help reduce emissions but still get from A to B easily.
  • A fun, inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity in all its forms, and where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and be treated fairly, equitably and respectfully.
