Senior Network Engineer

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer to work within our clients core network team on a series of initiatives with strong Routing, Switching and Firewall experience with a keen interest in automation. You'll join our excelling team, based in the London area.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

You will be joining our existing team within our Brodacast Media client working on corporate networks delivering multiple projects. This is a Hybrid opportunity with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.

What you'll be doing:

• Routing switching is key as a lot of this work will involved POP architecture and optimisation

• The platform is built, we have a team to build the automation, but having a keen interest in automation to help out

• Helping to define the network standards, and the application and adherence of those - with quarterly cycles to review, drive out problems, make recomendations, deliver fixes, document and take into operations.

• To support all the different corporate internal clients and develop solutions and resolve issues

• Provide engineering services to our clients technology teams.

• Identify potential issues or risks within the network estate, escalate for discussion, plan and implement remediation.

• Ensure best practice design standards are being adopted across the network estate highlighting any areas for potential improvement.

What you'll bring:

• Good knowledge of switching and routing, across a number of routing protocols, but specific knowledge and history of BGP is a requirement.

• Previous experience with Network automation including Python and Terraform

• Demonstrable Security knowledge - Palo Alto Firewalls including Panorama, virtual and physical devices

• Previous Multicast and/or IP Video experience
