Job Title: Application Architect
We are seeking a highly experienced Application Architect to lead the design and delivery of end-to-end architectural solutions across our Cards & Payments domain. This role will focus on application integration, acquiring and issuing, and API architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural visions and end-to-end designs for Cards & Payments, including application integration, acquiring, and issuing.
- Coordinate impact assessments for proposed solutions, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- Act as a steward for one or more capabilities/technologies, setting roadmaps and ensuring ongoing support and compliance with bank standards.
- Govern projects to ensure conformance with architectural standards and strategic direction.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with senior business stakeholders and peers across the CTO and architecture community.
- Provide expert guidance on API architecture, including RAML, SOAP, and service-oriented design principles.
- Support external exposure of API components and web services implementation.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in real-world architecture, with a strong track record of defining and delivering enterprise-wide technical solutions.
- Deep application architecture expertise, including API design and integration.
- Experience architecting end-to-end solutions across software and infrastructure layers.
- Exposure to cloud migration strategies and transitioning from traditional on-premise architectures.
Skills That Will Help You Succeed
- Strong delivery capability across substantial IT programmes from inception to completion.
- Certification in solution or enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, BCS).
- Knowledge of Java / Java Enterprise technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
