A welcoming primary school in Sutton is seeking a committed SEN TA to join their team from January 2026. This SEN TA role in Sutton will begin January 2026, with a structured induction and handover arranged before January 2026 to ensure a smooth transition. The SEN TA will support pupils with a range of additional needs, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted support.

The SEN TA will provide in-class and small-group support, helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence and build confidence. Working in Sutton, the SEN TA will assist with implementing EHCP strategies, adapting resources and promoting positive behaviour. The school values SEN TAs who are patient, proactive and committed to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted classroom and small-group support to pupils with SEND.

  • Assist with implementing individual strategies and support plans.

  • Promote engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours.

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and families in Sutton.

Person specification

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.

  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach to supporting learning.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow guidance.

  • Available to start January 2026, attend induction and be fully in post from January 2026.
