Associate Director, Business Manager (Markets Treasury Transformation)

HSBC Global Services Limited
London

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Business Manager (Markets Treasury Transformation)

Combining business management responsibilities with transformation expertise, you’ll drive front office desk-specific projects end-to-end, including project management, business analysis, and test management, while also supporting the delivery and execution of larger global initiatives.

Markets Treasury sits at our heart and acts as the street-facing arm of the treasury function with responsibility for setting the risk limits and strategy in respect of HSBC’s balance sheet. Markets Treasury’s priorities are to manage cash, liquidity and funding for 45+ sites, managing overall high quality liquid assets, short-term funding requirements and interest rates positions of the banking book.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you’ll:

- Lead and deliver large-scale global transformation programmes, including requirements gathering, process mapping, test management, and solution design ensuring objectives and timelines are met
- Manage project governance, including clear status reporting, decision logs, and escalation of issues to appropriate senior forums
- Develop and maintain project plans, tracking milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery outcomes
- Contribute to the development and execution of business strategy, including market analysis, benchmarking, and business case preparation
- Identify and drive opportunities to leverage AI and digital tools to improve processes, insight, and value delivery
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, sharing best practice and encouraging experimentation in a supportive environment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and support functions, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Support governance, risk management, and compliance activities as required
- At times, provide business management support to front office teams and the wider business manager and COO community

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Proven experience in projects management, management consulting, or business management, ideally within financial services or a front office environment
- Familiarity with transformation methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project management tools
- Strategic thinker with a track record of contributing to business planning and transformation strategy
- Demonstrated interest in AI, digital tools, and innovative ways of working
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience preparing materials for senior audiences
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team, collaborating across time zones
