School information:
This is a highly regarded co-educational independent secondary school in Islington, London for students aged 11–18, known for its strong academic outcomes, excellent pastoral provision and a rich creative curriculum. The school provides a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, develop confidence and explore their talents across a wide range of subjects.
The school offers small class sizes, excellent facilities and a strong commitment to enrichment. Creative subjects are highly valued and form an important part of the school’s identity, with Art, Design and Photography being particularly popular. The school is proud of its calm, purposeful atmosphere and respectful student culture, where high expectations are matched by strong support.
Staff benefit from a professional and collegiate working culture, with strong leadership support, access to excellent resources and clear opportunities for development. Support staff are valued as an essential part of the school community and are included in the wider life of the school.
Art Department:
The Art Department is a vibrant, inspiring and well-resourced creative space where students are supported to produce high-quality work across a wide range of media. You will support teachers by preparing materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, organising displays and exhibitions, and ensuring that studio spaces are clean, safe and ready for use. You may also support students directly during practical sessions, particularly when working with specialist equipment such as cutting tools, printing resources, clay, glazing or mixed media.
The Art Technician will also assist with stock control, ordering supplies, preparing portfolios for moderation, and supporting the organisation of GCSE and A Level coursework where appropriate. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a creative background who enjoys supporting young people and contributing to a thriving arts environment.
