Are you a Nutrition graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with young people in a school environment?
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant position at a highly regarded school in SW3, London. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to build experience in education, teaching, pastoral support or working with young people.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with their day-to-day learning and development, working alongside teaching staff to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students in the classroom with their learning.
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support.
- Helping students stay focused, organised and engaged.
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
- Building positive relationships with students and acting as a positive role model.
- Supporting students with their confidence, independence and development.
- Providing general pastoral and learning support where required.
- Getting involved in wider school activities and events.
- Working closely with teachers and the wider support team.
What We're Looking For
- Nutrition degree – 2:1 or above.
- Education/degree must have been completed within the UK.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
- A positive, patient and proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
Relevant experience could include:
- Classroom or school experience.
- Teaching Assistant or tutoring experience.
- Social care or support work.
- Youth work or mentoring.
- Volunteering with children or young people.
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
