We’re looking for a Health Visitor. The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the clinical team at Fertifa to help make a real impact on people’s lives. As a Health Visitor, you will play a vital role in providing expert guidance and support to families during the transition to parenthood and through the early years of a child's life. The role is dynamic and requires a proactive approach; our company is growing quickly, and you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that values initiative, flexibility, and innovation. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background relevant to Fertifa’s core pillars, such as midwifery, though this is not mandatory. This role reports to the Head of Clinical Services, whilst working closely with other consultants, patient advisors and collaborating with the wider company. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Focus:
- Serve as a primary clinical advisor for parents and guardians, offering evidence-based advice on infant health, maternal wellbeing, and early years development.
- Conduct virtual discovery calls and consultations to support families in understanding developmental milestones, nutrition, and postnatal recovery.
- Provide expert guidance on maternal mental health, infant feeding, and sleep hygiene, ensuring information is accessible and empathetic.
- Offer professional support to families navigating the complexities of new parenthood, tailored to their unique circumstances and health journeys.
- Educate parents and guardians on preventative healthcare, including immunisation schedules, weaning, and accident prevention in the home.
- Manage inquiries through the Fertifa app and email, delivering professional, family-centred, and informed responses.
- Maintain high standards of record keeping and document all patient interactions and outcomes accurately within our clinical systems.
- Adhere to robust safeguarding protocols to ensure the privacy and safety of all children and families.
- Support daily clinical operations by coordinating care within the team to meet the diverse needs of families.
- Act as an escalation point for patient advisors on complex clinical queries related to postnatal and early years health.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external wellness providers to ensure a seamless and supportive journey for Fertifa patients.
- Contribute to the development of digital health tools and resources to enhance the patient experience.
- Create educational content, lead webinars, and facilitate sessions on areas of expertise such as postnatal health, new-born care, and neurodiversity in early years.
- Follow all established clinical protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Willingness to support patients across diverse pathways including but not limited to women’s health, men’s health, menopause, maternity, neurodiversity, gender affirmation, mental health, lifestyle management and infant care, with training provided as needed.
- Flexibility to work a rota including early starts (8am), late finishes (8pm).
- Commitment to continuous professional development, staying current with healthcare practices relevant to our services.
- Must hold a qualification with a valid NMC registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – Health Visiting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Health Visitor or in a similar community health role.
- Good understanding of the Healthy Child Programme.
- Strong understanding of maternal health, infant development, and early years clinical advice.
- Organisational and time-management skills to manage appointments, webinars, and consultations effectively.
- Experience in delivering health education to parents/families and supportive counselling is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of child and adult safeguarding.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of empathy.
- Good IT skills required (Microsoft Office, Semble or equivalent patient management software).
- First level degree
- A background in Midwifery (or another of our care pathways) is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
