Senior Electrical Engineer
Conduct gap analyses on existing electrical systems and operational workflows, implementing structured action plans to rectify non-conformance's.
Ensure all maintenance practices conform to strict UK safety legislation, ATEX, DSEAR, and aviation-specific fuel handling guidelines.
Drive electrical safety management, taking a proactive approach to risk identification and reduction in high-hazard areas.Qualifications & Experience Qualifications: Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering (or equivalent HND/Apprenticeship route with significant industry experience).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with a relevant institution (IET or similar), or demonstrable progression towards gaining these titles.
CompEx / ATEX certification highly desirable.Technical & Industry Knowledge: 5+ Years Experience: Proven track record as an Electrical Engineer in aviation fuel storage, chemical distribution, process engineering, or heavy industrial sectors.
Aviation Standards: Direct working knowledge of JIG 2 (Joint Inspection Group) standards and Energy Institute (EI) guidelines (e.g., EI 1540) for aviation fuel handling.
Hazardous Areas & Safety: Specialist knowledge of DSEAR, ATEX, and Hazardous Area Classification requirements for fuel depots and hydrant systems.
Earthing & Protection: Deep understanding of static elimination, bonding, earthing electrode resistance, and Cathodic Protection systems.
Standards & Compliance: Experience with BS 7671 regulations and equipment compliance directives (CE marking, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, EMC).Personal Profile: Safety-first mindset with an uncompromising attitude toward risk management.
Excellent communication skills, confident in liaising with cross-functional site teams, asset owner representatives, and airport stakeholders.
