Graff Search are delighted to partner with this leading aerospace and technology business in the search for a Legal Director, based in Germany. The firm are a global player in their sector and looking to further develop their in-house legal function by adding a Senior Lawyer – Director – to the team to focus on commercial matters effecting their EMEA operations.

The Opportunity

The role will suit someone who is interested in variety where no one day is the same as the next.

This is a senior appointment where you’ll be exposed to senior management and stakeholders, many of which have been with the business for a long time, so good stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential.

Location is flexible as they have several office locations in Germany (North and South) – the role is a Senior / Director level appointment where you’ll be expected to lead by example and mentor more junior lawyers within the business, as well as get your hands dirty in very complex commercial contract agreements.

About You

The opportunity will suits a fluent German / English speaker and German qualified lawyer who can work within a highly technical workforce and navigate an international matrix structure.

Broad commercial experience with a degree of in-house experience, ideally gained in-house and with an international, complex business is key. The ability to make decisions and advise the business pragmatically is also essential.

All PQE levels will be considered, but a guide of 10+ has been given.

Occasional travel will be required, along with competitive rates of pay, plus a hybrid working arrangement for 1 to 2 days in the office – open on office location.
