Working closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and external specialists, you will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions for pupils with needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties. This is a rewarding, hands-on role suited to a patient, organized, and adaptable individual.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse learning, sensory, and behavioral needs
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to ensure pupils can access the curriculum effectively
Utilize positive behavior strategies and sensory regulation techniques to keep pupils focused and engaged
Foster pupils' confidence, social skills, and academic independence in both classroom and break-time environments
Track pupil progress, maintain observational logs, and provide regular updates to the SENCo and class teachers
Liaise professionally with parents, external therapists, and pastoral leadership to ensure consistent care
Assist the class teacher with general classroom preparation and creating an inclusive learning environment
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Learning Support department

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, or Learning Mentor (ideally within a school setting)
Strong knowledge of supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or specific learning difficulties (SpLD)
Exceptional patience, emotional resilience, and strong de-escalation skills
Ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities
A dedicated, compassionate, and flexible approach to supporting young learners
