School Administrator

Are you an organised, approachable, and proactive administrator looking to join a busy and welcoming secondary school?

A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated School Administrator to support the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding support to pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the school's administrative functions while contributing to a positive and professional school environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional reception service for visitors, parents, pupils, and staff.

  • Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries efficiently and professionally.

  • Maintain accurate pupil records using school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor .

  • Support attendance administration, admissions, and student data management.

  • Prepare letters, reports, and school communications using Microsoft Office.

  • Assist with organising meetings, school events, and diary management.

  • Ensure visitor sign-in procedures are followed in line with safeguarding requirements.

  • Carry out general administrative duties including filing, scanning, photocopying, and document management.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the school office.

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in an administrative or office-based role.

  • Has excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Has experience using SIMS , Arbor , or another school Management Information System (desirable).

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy under pressure.

  • Is friendly, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

  • Can work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.

  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism at all times.
