Maintenance Planner - British Airways (Heathrow)

Location: Heathrow Airport
Pay: £25-£29 per hour
Contract Type: 12 Month contract with renew potential

About the Role

British Airways is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team at Heathrow. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient planning of aircraft maintenance activities, both line and base, with a strong focus on operational excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Forecasting: Continuously review and optimise the maintenance forecast for cost and time efficiency.
Resource Planning: Ensure all required spares and resources are identified and available ahead of scheduled maintenance.
Work Package Creation: Use BA systems to generate detailed work packages and work orders for line and base maintenance inputs.
MRO Coordination: Issue work packages to Part 145 Maintenance Repair Organisations (MROs) with clear instructions and specific requirements.
Certification & Reporting: Verify that all paperwork from MROs is correctly certified and reported back in AMOS.
Record Updates: Update aircraft computer records, logbooks, and associated tracking sheets using AMOS.
Archiving: Prepare and send completed work packages for archiving and assist with archiving duties.
Audit & Compliance: Perform record audits of subcontracted organisations in line with procedures.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process and system improvements and foster collaborative team working.
Flexibility: Undertake reasonable duties aligned with the role and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

Proven experience in aircraft maintenance planning, preferably within a Part 145 environment.
Proficiency in Planning Systems or similar maintenance management systems.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to compliance and safety standards.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic operational needs.
