Are you an experienced Risk & Compliance professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are partnering with a highly regarded professional services firm seeking a Senior Governance & Risk Analyst to join its established Governance & Risk team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently operating at Senior Analyst level who is keen to broaden their management responsibilities while gaining exposure to a varied, business-facing risk and compliance role.
The Opportunity
Joining a collaborative and high-performing Governance & Risk function, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s risk management and compliance framework. The position combines team leadership, advisory responsibilities, regulatory compliance, information security, quality management, and project work.
You will act as a trusted adviser across the business, supporting colleagues on a wide range of compliance matters whilst helping to foster a strong culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support junior members of the Governance & Risk team, providing guidance on complex compliance matters and overseeing day-to-day workflow.
- Manage frontline risk and compliance queries, ensuring timely, practical and commercially focused advice.
- Advise on a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues, including:
- AML and client due diligence
- Conflicts of interest
- Professional conduct matters
- Data protection and GDPR
- Regulatory compliance requirements
- Oversee key compliance processes, including information barriers, data subject access requests, declarations of interest, and related governance activities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assist with implementing changes across the business.
- Support the maintenance of quality and information security management systems and associated accreditations.
- Conduct policy reviews, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
- Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to promote a positive compliance culture.
- Prepare reports, committee papers, and management information for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to wider firm-wide risk, governance, and compliance projects.
- Support insurance renewal processes and other strategic risk initiatives.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Proven experience within a Risk & Compliance function in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations, GDPR, conflicts management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience handling complex compliance and professional conduct queries.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to make risk-based decisions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
