Pay Rate: MPS1 – UPS3 Outer London (£34,514 – £51,179 per annum / daily rate equivalent)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent / Long-term Contract

Start Date: January 2027 / Immediate

About the Role

A successful and welcoming secondary school located in the London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking an inspirational and passionate Drama Teacher to join a thriving Performing Arts department.

Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for a fresh challenge or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a supportive school to complete your induction, this post offers fantastic opportunities to deliver dynamic practical lessons and contribute to extra-curricular school productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Drama).

  • Option to teach Key Stage 5 (A-Level / BTEC Performing Arts) depending on candidate experience.

  • Foster a creative, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment where pupils build confidence and performance skills.

  • Monitor pupil progress, assess work, and provide constructive feedback to support individual achievement.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular clubs, school plays, drama showcases, and theater visits.

  • Maintain effective behavior management in line with the school’s ethos and policy.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.

  • Education: A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, or a related discipline.

  • Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Drama curriculum, including script work, devisor techniques, and practitioner studies.

  • Skills: Excellent classroom management, enthusiastic delivery, and strong communication skills.

  • Safeguarding: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one through Wayman Education.
