SVP of DevSecOps / Infrastructure – Trading / FinTech

Oliver Bernard are currently working with a Trading / FinTech company, with a global presence, who are looking to add an SVP of DevSecOps / Infrastructure to their London office.

As part of a large scale tech overhaul, our client are currently going through an architectural transformation, and looking to hire an established SVP of DevSecOps / Infrastructure to champion their Platform, DevOps, Security, and Data functions.

Heading up the function will mean being part of the decision making for the broader business, working closely with the other tech teams in a cross-functional manner to improve their technical roadmap, whilst scaling their team. There is also the opportunity, in the long-term, to work up into a C-Level capacity.

To be considered for this opening, the following experience is required:

Hands-On:

• Multi-Cloud experience (they primarily use AWS) as well as prior On-Prem experience
• DevOps / SRE experience across Containers, IaC, CI/CD, Monitoring etc
• Strong understanding of Architecture, particularly from a Cloud perspective
• Expert knowledge of Security practices (ISO, Risk, Threat Modelling etc)
• Prior experience working in Data and ML driven environments is also an absolute must (with AI a big bonus)

Hands-Off:

• Ability to drive and scale DevOps and Infrastructure strategies
• Able to develop and build roadmaps, ideally doing so across various tech teams in the past
• Managing, mentoring and coaching a team of DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers
• Able to champion and shape Architectural decisions
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to liaise with external clients on a regular basis

This position will start out in a hands-on capacity, before gradually moving hands-off as the team scales, so to be suitable any incoming profile will need to be capable as an Engineer whilst driving strategy, roadmaps, architecture etc.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 on-site office days p/week, and can offer £120-150K (dependant on experience).
