The Role – Graduate Learning Support Assistant
- Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs
- Help students regulate emotions, develop social skills, and stay engaged in learning
- Support with behaviour management and personalised social–emotional interventions
- Assist in adapting lesson activities and learning resources for individual needs
- Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to deliver tailored support plans
- Help foster a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment
- Support with daily routines and occasional personal care, depending on pupil needs
Person Specification
You MUST:
- Hold a degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Neuroscience, Education, or a closely related field
- Have graduated within the last two years
You SHOULD:
- Have a genuine interest in SEN, child development, or mental health
- Bring a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people
- Communicate effectively and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ideally have experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (desirable but not essential)
