Travelling Healthcare Assistant
About the Role
Advantage Angels is recruiting Travelling Healthcare Assistants for flexible agency shifts across London and the wider Greater London area. This role is ideal for experienced HCAs who want maximum variety, the chance to work across different settings and boroughs, and the freedom to choose every shift they work.
As a Travelling HCA with Advantage Angels, you will work across care homes, nursing homes and supported living services throughout London — from Central and North London to South, East and West London and the outer boroughs. We match you to settings that suit your experience and travel preferences, and our shift coordinators are available seven days a week to keep your diary full.
Where travel is required, your travel costs are covered. Where overnight stays are necessary, accommodation is arranged and paid for by Advantage Angels — meaning you can take on shifts further afield with no out-of-pocket costs.
What You'll Receive
Up to £22.00 per hour with enhanced rates for nights, weekends and bank holidays
Weekly or monthly pay — your choice
Travel costs covered for all placements requiring travel
Accommodation arranged and paid for where overnight stays are required
Flexible shifts across all London areas chosen entirely around your availability
Free online and practical training including moving and handling, basic life support and safeguarding
Uniform, ID badge and DBS covered by us
24/7 support from our recruitment and operations team
Staff referral bonus scheme
Your Responsibilities
As a Travelling Healthcare Assistant with Advantage Angels across London you will:
Assist residents with personal care and daily living activities across a range of care settings
Support mobility, comfort and wellbeing of service users
Provide emotional support and companionship
Work alongside Registered Nurses and wider care teams across multiple settings
Maintain accurate care records in line with CQC standards
Adapt quickly to different care environments, client groups and working practices
Represent Advantage Angels professionally in every placement
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 6 months paid UK care experience in a care home, nursing home or hospital setting
A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Willingness and ability to travel across Greater London and surrounding areas — all travel costs are covered
The right to work in the UK — we do not offer visa sponsorship
No criminal convictions
Flexibility and adaptability to work across different settings, client groups and boroughs
Up to date mandatory training certificates including a practical moving and handling certificate
Confident using a floor hoist, Sara Steady and other moving and handling equipment
Travel and Accommodation — What to Expect
All travel costs associated with your placements are covered by Advantage Angels. Where a shift requires an overnight stay or is located further from your home address, we arrange and fully fund your accommodation — you will never be out of pocket for travel or lodging when working with us.
Our shift coordinators will always discuss travel and accommodation arrangements with you in advance of confirming any placement, so you know exactly what is covered and what to expect before you agree to a shift.
