Mobile/Bench Engineer Multiskilled

The Role

We’re looking for a Mobile/Bench Engineer Multiskilled to join the team, supporting multiple client sites across the region. This is a field-based role where travel is a core part of the position, so flexibility and the ability to work across different locations is essential.

You’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring client assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role will involve fault finding, repairs, plant maintenance, compliance tasks, and supporting the day-to-day operation of building services systems.

Working closely with the wider engineering and contract teams, you’ll play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational environments for clients and end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical and electrical systems

  • Maintaining and repairing HVAC, lighting, water, ventilation, and associated building services systems

  • Fault finding on mechanical and electrical equipment, including responding to BMS alarms and first-line diagnostics

  • Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and logbooks accurately through simPRO

  • Supporting statutory planned maintenance and escalating issues where completion is not possible

  • Monitoring subcontractors on site and reviewing work standards

  • Maintaining plant rooms and work areas to a clean, safe, and compliant standard

  • Carrying out small installation works and general building services maintenance tasks

  • Communicating effectively with clients, end users, and internal teams

  • Reporting hazards, plant issues, or risks to management immediately

  • Supporting safe systems of work, isolations, and confirming systems are safe to work on

  • Working collaboratively with engineering teams to maintain high service standards across all sites

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Electrical City & Guilds/NVQ Part 3 (or equivalent building services qualification)

  • Previous experience within Building Services / M&E maintenance

  • Good understanding of safe working practices and Electricity at Work Regulations

  • Experience carrying out maintenance, testing, and fault finding across a range of building services equipment

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Legionella Awareness

  • 18th Edition

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing

  • IOSH Working Safely

  • PASMA and IPAF

  • Unvented Hot Water Systems training

  • Experience with BMS, generators, controls, lighting, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, LPHW systems, and pressurisation systems

  • High Voltage experience/certification

Team Structure & Support

You’ll be supported by a team led by Contract Support and the Supervisor, with additional escalation and operational support available via the Regional Director. The wider engineering team works collaboratively to ensure engineers have the support needed across all client sites.

Training & Progression

This role offers ongoing development opportunities, including statutory and task-specific training to support both compliance and career progression.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proactive and reliable engineer who can work independently and as part of a team

  • Someone organised and able to manage workloads across multiple sites

  • A strong communicator with a professional and customer-focused attitude

  • An engineer comfortable working in fast-paced, business-critical environments

  • Someone flexible and willing to support operational requirements when needed
