Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor who’s hit a glass ceiling? Do you have management experience but feel your current company isn’t offering the progression you deserve? Are you particularly interested in pre-construction and project development?
If so, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
We are working with a highly regarded Principal Civil Contractor seeking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to their established, high performing commercial team. Key Areas of Focus:

2. Oversee a live project valued at approximately £4M, ensuring commercial control and successful delivery
3. Provide strategic commercial input into the pursuit of the next framework period, commencing in 2027
What will you be doing on day to day basis?

- Commercial Leadership: Lead the commercial function across multiple projects, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and providing strategic guidance on all financial aspects
- Cost Management: Oversee budgeting, cost planning, and value engineering throughout project lifecycles. Ensure accurate cost forecasting, reporting, and control of expenditure against budgets.
- Procurement & Contract Management: Manage procurement strategies, tendering processes, and subcontractor appointments. Administer and negotiate contracts (NEC Option A, C and E), ensuring compliance and minimising risk.
- Change & Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage variations, claims, and risks to protect project margins and contractual positions.
- Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to support collaborative project delivery.
- Reporting & Governance: Produce accurate monthly commercial reports, forecasts, and cash flow analyses. Present commercial updates to senior management and stakeholders.
