Assistant Store Manager - Womenswear
Walker Slater is seeking an experienced and ambitious Womenswear Assistant Store Manager to help lead our flagship Covent Garden store, located in the heart of London’s fashion capital.
This is a senior leadership role within the store, ideal for a proven retail professional who is passionate about people, performance, and personal growth. You will work closely with an experienced Store Manager and Area Manager as part of a strong leadership team, playing a key role in driving commercial success, developing talent, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Since opening in 2015, the Covent Garden store has built a loyal and discerning customer base. We are now looking for a confident, professional, and motivated leader who thrives on responsibility, leads by example, and is eager to grow within an established and expanding brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in driving overall store performance, KPIs, and commercial objectives
- Act as a strong leader on the shop floor, inspiring and motivating the team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Take ownership of day-to-day store operations, including rota planning, inventory management, visual merchandising, and stock control
- Lead, coach, and develop the team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Deliver a premium, personalised shopping experience that reflects the Walker Slater brand and values
- Step into full store leadership in the Store Manager’s absence
- Maintain high standards across customer service, presentation, and operational excellence
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in retail or hospitality (Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or equivalent)
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent customer service skills, with a natural ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- A high level of accountability, professionalism, and reliability
- Confidence in decision-making and a solution-focused mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine desire to grow, progress, and take on increased responsibility within the business
