TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, independent accountancy practice in the TW area that is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their close-knit and friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but growing firm that offers a varied role, direct client exposure and a supportive working environment. The practice provides a full range of accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs, owner-managed businesses and individuals.

The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role within the practice, managing your own client portfolio and supporting the delivery of high-quality accounts and tax services.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
  
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  
• Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting personal tax work where required
  
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
  
• Overseeing bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
  
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting relationships
  
• Providing general business and financial advice to clients
  
• Supporting and reviewing the work of junior staff where applicable
  
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with deadlines and compliance requirements
  
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects and supporting the Partners with client work
  

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
  
• Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice
  
• Good technical knowledge across accounts and tax compliance
  
• Experience managing a client portfolio independently
  
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
  
• A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail
  
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
