Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical)

The Opportunity
Our client, a London-based engineering team are expanding their team to meet growing demand across UK defence projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global consultancy that prides itself on delivering excellent work, where every project matters.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of medium-to-large scale projects, leading design from concept through to delivery. You’ll collaborate across multiple disciplines, drive technical excellence, and build long-term client partnerships that shape repeat success.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Lead delivery of mechanical building services designs from concept to construction.
Act as Project Leader on medium-to-large projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics, and more).
Review contractor submissions and oversee construction administration.
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Mentor and support junior engineers, developing team capability.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
A recognised mechanical engineering qualification
8–10 years’ engineering experience in mechanical building services design.
Proven project leadership/project management experience with multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
Knowledge of RIBA Stages 1–4A.
It’s great if you also have the following
Experience with defence sector or large-scale commercial projects.
Familiarity with other disciplines (electrical, public health, fire protection).
Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
