Commercial Brand Marketing Manager

The Hoxton
Hoxton, Greater London

Company Description

We’re looking for a Brand Manager to lead the charge on all things brand, comms and culture at The Hoxton, Edinburgh. You’ll be our storyteller, community builder and strategic thinker – the one who keeps us buzzing in all the right places and brings our brand to life across every touchpoint.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll work closely together to lead the brand direction for Edinburgh. You’ll also have strategic guidance from our Head of Marketing, plus support from our central brand and comms teams across PR, content, design and digital. You’ll blend creativity with commercial thinking, bringing structure and focus to how we plan and execute. From daily brand details to bold campaign ideas, you’ll be across it all – making sure everything feels intentional, impactful, and totally Hox.

We’ve opened our doors in Edinburgh’s charming West End - our very first Hox in Scotland. Set across 11 beautiful Georgian townhouses, we’re home to 214 bedrooms, a lively open lobby and bar, an all-day Italian trattoria Patatino, a retro-inspired cinema, a flexible and super-size event space called The Get Together, and The Apartment – our unique signature spot for meetings, private dinners and memorable gatherings.

More about us…

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

Job Description

What's in it for you...

  • Become part of a team that’s very passionate about creating great hospitality experiences.
  • Competitive salary.
  • 29 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension and life insurance.
  • Food on us during your shift.
  • Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you first start with us.
  • Training to get you settled into your role with ongoing development that helps you think, make and thrive to set you up for success at work.
  • Time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities.
  • Hox Hero and Nifty Fifty, our rewards for going the extra mile and living our values.
  • An annual diversity and inclusion calendar of events creating opportunities for you to learn, celebrate and make a positive impact.
  • Regular team get togethers, from our High Fives to our (pretty special!) team parties – we know how to have a good time!
  • The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.
  • Join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that is shaking things up on the hospitality scene.
  • Excellent discounts across The Hoxton and the global Ennismore family.

What you’ll do…

  • Lead and shape the local brand, marketing and comms strategy – making sure The Hoxton, Edinburgh is always visible, relevant and loved by locals, guests and media.
  • Build and deliver a structured calendar of culturally sharp, commercially minded campaigns, partnerships and activations that drive awareness and revenue across rooms, F&B and events.
  • Collaborate with our PR Manager to shape and deliver a smart local PR strategy – building strong media and influencer relationships, landing great coverage, and supporting national and global storytelling together.
  • Develop and manage local content across social media, newsletters and our website, creating engaging, on-brand messaging with input from our central team.
  • Grow and engage our local community of Hox Friends, regulars, influencers and creatives, making them feel part of the family and key to spreading the word.
  • Work closely with F&B, sales and revenue teams to shape smart marketing ideas, offers and events that support business goals and guest experience.
  • Champion the full guest journey across hotel, restaurant and event spaces – making sure every touchpoint feels intentional, on-brand and memorable.
  • Collaborate with our central digital marketing team to ensure local activity supports wider goals – aligning on performance marketing and paid media where relevant.
  • Use insight and data to track, report and optimise brand and marketing activity, learning what works and refining your approach accordingly.
  • Influence and inspire cross-functional teams – helping them bring the brand to life in everything from event planning to on-the-ground service.
  • Manage local marketing and design budgets, planning spend smartly and tracking it with the GM and Head of Marketing.
  • Brief and collaborate with our in-house design team on all creative needs – from signage and menus to campaign visuals and event collateral.
  • Be the guardian of The Hoxton brand in Edinburgh – ensuring everything we say, show and do reflects our tone, values and identity.

What we’re looking for…

  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun along the way.
  • A confident, organised and commercially minded brand lead with 4+ years’ experience in a marketing, brand or comms role – ideally within hospitality, lifestyle or culture.
  • Someone who’s ready to step into a broader, more strategic role – you may have been a Senior Executive or Brand Manager and are now ready to own your own patch.
  • Someone who can balance big creative thinking with structure, planning and follow-through – you know how to make ideas happen.
  • A strategic thinker with a good grasp of how marketing activity impacts business performance – and how to measure success.
  • A natural connector with a strong Edinburgh network – you know the local scene and have the contacts to prove it.
  • A multi-channel marketer who’s comfortable working across PR, social, content, events and partnerships – and thrives on variety.
  • A brilliant communicator – confident copywriting, strong briefing, clear reporting and great with people.
  • Comfortable with marketing tools and platforms – from CMS and CRM to Google Analytics and scheduling tools.
  • Someone who gets hospitality – from bar buzz to breakfast bags – and loves creating moments that matter for guests and locals alike.
  • A hands-on doer who can work independently but knows how to collaborate and bring people with them.
  • A team player who enjoys working closely with GMs, central teams and cross-functional leads to make great things
