About Opply
Opply's AI agents run operations for consumer goods brands - from sourcing to logistics to finance - freeing their teams to focus entirely on growth.
Brands handle growth. We handle their operations.
There are currently 1 million SMB consumer goods brands ordering over $1 trillion of raw ingredients per year - imagine this was all ordered on one platform.
These brands all order separately today, and have small teams/order volumes which results in them wasting 70% stock, and getting ingredients at a 40% higher price than market rate.
Opply automates the entire ingredient ordering process through:
1) Partnering with the world's biggest suppliers, giving SMB's access to their pricing through an AI matching and forecasting proprietary model
2) AI self learning platform that orders the ingredients when and where you need them
3) Data-led credit that allows brands to sell their goods before they pay for the ingredients
We work with a lot of the most exciting brands and suppliers in this space, and are shaping innovation in a world that didn't have this before, if you're a trailblazer, come join us!
Who We Are
We’re a close-knit team of 25, working across five time zones, and we meet up every year to work, ideate and hang out (most recent trips have been to Finland, Prague and Ibiza)!
We're VC-backed by some of the world's top investors like Index, Anthemis and Chalfen Ventures, and unicorn angels from GoCardless, Flow.io and Trouva, and have won StartUp of the Year for Technology Services and Supply Chain Specialists of the Year at the Startup and Global Corporate LiveWire awards - achievements we’re super proud of!
Who You Are
- 6+ years building great products in fast-paced startups: You’ve helped shape and ship impactful products in environments where speed, ownership, and creativity matter
- You are empathetic and collaborative: You work seamlessly across teams, creating alignment and trust to drive business outcomes together
- You are language agnostic: You’re very confident working across the stack - from infrastructure to backend to frontend - and thrive in environments that evolve. Our current stack includes Python, Django, AWS, and Vue.js, but you’re excited to keep growing with whatever technologies come next
- Agentic by nature: You think in systems of autonomous, intelligent components - whether they’re people or software agents. You use AI tools daily, understand their strengths and limits, and believe deeply in building agentic products that reason, act, and collaborate to deliver value
- You get things done: You move fast, stay focused, and consistently deliver with business impact in mind - never just output for output’s sake
- You are resourceful and independent: You know how to find a way forward, make progress with limited context, and help others around you grow
- You care deeply about outcomes: You take pride in pushing boundaries and going the extra mile to reach new heights for the product, the team, and the business
What the Job Involves
- Shape agentic solutions for real business problems: You’ll take prioritised pain points from Product Management and design intelligent, autonomous, or semi-autonomous solutions that move key company metrics
- Own the full solution design: From architecture and UX/UI flows to delivery strategy and MVP scoping, you’ll define end-to-end approaches that are both fast to ship and built with agentic principles - modular, intelligent, and capable of learning or acting independently
- Lead execution from concept to delivery: You’ll drive development yourself and with others, ensuring progress, quality, and short iteration cycles - empowering both human and AI agents in the process
- Keep everyone aligned: You’ll make sure stakeholders, your team, and adjacent tech groups always know where things stand, what’s next, and why it matters
- Stay hands-on: You’ll write code, review pull requests, refine architecture, and validate designs - maintaining ownership over what reaches production and how each component fits into the broader agentic system
- Spot and fix issues early: You’ll recognise when a plan or implementation isn’t working, rally the right people, and re-align fast to keep delivery on track
- Elevate product and agentic thinking: You’ll work closely with Product Management to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and embed agentic design - where intelligent agents drive automation, insight, and decision-making - into how the company delivers value
- Focus relentlessly on impact: You’ll continuously ensure your time and the team’s energy are invested where they drive the most meaningful outcomes for the business
Where You’re Headed
- Launch and grow a new team: You’ll lead the creation of a team focused on expanding the supply‑chain domain we serve, tackling untapped opportunities and shaping the roadmap
- Lead as an individual contributor: You’ll play a hands-on role in designing and shipping code while orchestrating efforts across a small team, balancing leadership with deep technical engagement
- Partner closely with the Head of Engineering: You’ll collaborate directly with our Head of Engineering to influence technology decisions and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic vision
- Report to our Engineering Manager: You’ll have clear support and mentorship from a seasoned manager who will help you remove obstacles and grow
- Advance in a growing organisation: As our tech department expands, new leadership roles will emerge across domains; we’re committed to promoting from within and cultivating future “heads of” from today’s team
