Wheel Section Team Lead
Previous experience in mechanic/automotive/bike industry.
Strong ability to true and repair wheels to a high standard.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be able to lead by example, reliable and organized.
Practical skills navigating and using apps.
Ability to be very active - bend, stoop, and lift up to 35kg on a frequent basis.
To respond to other various tasks as they are assigned. Role of a Wheel Section Team Lead: Ensuring high quality repairs
Ensure all repairs are executed efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
Implement quality control
Maintaining cleanliness and order
Take full ownership of cleanliness and organisation of the wheel section.
Ensure all workstations and shared areas remain clean and orderly throughout and after the end of the working day.
Managing tools and equipment
Assume complete responsibility for tracking work phones, tools, and equipment.
Ensure the collection and proper storage of all items at the end of each shift to avoid loss or damage.
Report any maintenance issues with tools and equipment promptly
Team oversight and location awareness
Monitor the whereabouts and activities of team members in the wheel section.
Maintain a clear understanding of the wheel section work flow.
Assign the most effective personnel to the correct tasks to maintain efficiency.
Performance management
Monitor individual and team performance to ensure targets are consistently met.
Provide constructive feedback and training to low performers, guiding them on improving their efficiency and skills.
Recognise and reward high-performing team members to promote a culture of excellence and improve retention of staff.
Resource allocation and task management
Manage and allocate team resources effectively to balance workloads and - optimise productivity.
Proactively address bottlenecks and reassign tasks when necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Implement a rotation system to achieve task variability for team members.
Upholding professional standards
Lead by example by maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
Foster a respectful and collaborative work environment where all team members feel valued and supported.
Enforcing policies and procedures
Ensure strict adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
Communicate any updates or changes that may impact operations in a timely manner.
Training and skill development:
Facilitate ongoing training and skill development for team members.
Identify knowledge gaps and organise relevant training sessions to improve team competency.
