Role summary - Year 1 Teacher
As the Year 1 Teacher you will deliver systematic phonics and foundational reading strategies as the Year 1 Teacher, teach engaging early writing units as the Year 1 Teacher, and design practical early mathematics sessions as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will plan and run small-group interventions, lead assessment meetings and contribute to transition work into Year 2. The Year 1 Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026, complete induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher.
Day-to-day expectations for the Year 1 Teacher
Mornings: the Year 1 Teacher leads phonics, guided reading and focused writing sessions. Afternoons: the Year 1 Teacher delivers topic work and structured early maths. The Year 1 Teacher will engage parents and carers, participate in moderation and join CPD cycles scheduled from January 2026.
Person specification - Year 1 Teacher
We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS, confident KS1 practice and a passion for early literacy. The Year 1 Teacher must be available for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to start teaching from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.
