Senior Product Manager - Trading

About the role

As a Senior Product Manager here at Superscript, you will lead the development, optimisation, and performance of our SME insurance products. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our products are both commercially successful and genuinely solve real customer problems.

That means leading the charge of growth across our customer segments while delivering products that are relevant, usable, and valuable to our customers.

You’ll work closely with our Underwriting, Tech, Data, Commercial & Operations teams to align product development with both strategic business goals and customer needs. This is a hands-on, outcome-focused role, requiring strong product thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to deliver through cross-functional teams and/or technical delivery squads.

What you'll get up to:

• Identify and solve meaningful customer problems in the SME insurance space, ensuring our products meet real needs and deliver clear value.

• Use customer research, feedback and behavioural data to continuously improve product-market fit.

• Balance customer value and user experience with underwriting and commercial performance.

• Design and optimise products to drive conversion, retention, profitability and satisfaction across the customer lifecycle, creating and achieving business cases.

• Work closely with Ops and Customer teams to understand support issues and friction points, feeding these insights into product improvements.

• Collaborate with Underwriting to adjust appetite, pricing and coverage in response to performance data and market trends.

• Work with Commercial and Growth teams to ensure strong alignment between product capabilities and go-to-market plans.

• Define and deliver a clear product roadmap, prioritising initiatives based on commercial value, customer impact, and feasibility.

• Lead a technical squad, or collaborate with the relevant Product Managers to manage the full product lifecycle, from discovery and development to launch and optimisation.

• Act as the key link between Product, Underwriting, Engineering, Commercial, and Data teams.

• Ensure strong alignment across all functions on priorities, goals, and success metrics.

About you:

• Proven experience in a senior product role, ideally from within the insurance industry.

• Strong track record of delivering both customer value and commercial results through product development.

• Deep understanding of trading metrics and how to improve them.

• Experience working closely with Underwriting, Pricing or Data Science teams.

• Strong commercial and strategic thinking, with the ability to prioritise for impact.

• Experienced in full product lifecycle ownership in fast-paced or regulated environments.

• Previous experience working for an MGA, insurer or broker.

• Exposure to digital distribution or embedded insurance.

• Familiarity with B2B customer segments and their insurance needs.
