Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale

We are seeking a professional, approachable and highly organised Receptionist to join a respected secondary school in Islington. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable individual who enjoys working in a busy school environment and takes pride in delivering a high standard of front-of-house and administrative support. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, carers, students and external agencies, and will play a key role in ensuring the reception area runs efficiently and professionally at all times.

The school is looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a calm, helpful manner. You will need to be confident handling a wide range of enquiries, both in person and by telephone, while maintaining a welcoming and professional presence. This role would suit someone who is able to multitask effectively, manage competing priorities and work with discretion in a school setting where safeguarding, confidentiality and accuracy are essential.

As Receptionist, you will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing calls and emails, dealing with deliveries, maintaining visitor logs, supporting student sign-in and sign-out procedures and assisting with general administrative tasks. You will also support school events, liaise with staff across departments and help ensure that the administrative side of daily school life runs smoothly. The role requires someone who is dependable, efficient and able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity in a well-run and supportive secondary school where the contribution of support staff is recognised and valued. The school is keen to appoint someone who understands the importance of excellent service, strong organisation and positive communication in helping the wider school community function successfully.

Students are respectful, engaged and ambitious, creating a calm and purposeful learning environment where staff and pupils work together effectively.

The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum that supports both academic achievement and personal development, preparing students well for further education and future employment. Staff benefit from a collaborative professional culture, strong pastoral systems and leadership that is committed to continuous improvement. Support staff are an integral part of the school’s success and are valued for the expertise and consistency they bring to day-to-day operations.

Working at this school means joining a community that places great importance on professionalism, teamwork and mutual respect. The administrative team is well established, and the successful candidate will receive clear guidance and support while also being encouraged to use initiative and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
