Brand Manager - Seasonal & Exclusive Range
We are seeking a commercially driven and creative Brand Manager to lead the Seasonal and Exclusive Range portfolio for Thorntons. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering defined targets across Profit and Loss, market share, and competitive positioning within your categories. Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and cross-functional partners, you will shape brand positioning and detailed strategies that unlock growth and strengthen our presence in the market.
You will bring ideas to life by developing and executing initiatives across the full marketing mix, ensuring that all activities are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to the broader business strategy. From campaign development and innovation launches to promotions and portfolio optimisation, you will play a central role in driving performance while carefully managing advertising, promotional, and research investments to maximise return.
This is a high-impact role offering real ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to shape the future of our Seasonal and Exclusive Range brands in a collaborative, inclusive environment where every voice is valued.
As Brand Manager, you will contribute to defining brand targets across sales mix, net sales, gross margin, and marketing contribution, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. You will support the development of detailed volume and value budgets, including SKU and packaging breakdowns, and take an active role in the annual strategic planning process, helping define volumes, P&L expectations, and key activity plans.
You will monitor and manage marketing investment across advertising, promotions, and research to ensure delivery within agreed budget parameters. By closely tracking financial performance and individual P&L lines, you will identify risks and opportunities, recommending and implementing corrective actions where required; whilst participating in the sales forecasting process alongside Sales, Logistics, and Trade Marketing, ensuring strong alignment between demand planning and brand initiatives.
A core part of the role will involve shaping and evolving the portfolio strategy for the Seasonal and Exclusive Range. You will assess competitor activity and market dynamics to refine brand positioning and identify growth opportunities. This includes reviewing and evaluating product mix and pricing structures to ensure budgeted objectives can be achieved, identifying strategic SKUs, and leading new product development projects from concept through to launch. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful innovation delivery, including packaging and labelling development.
Promotional planning and execution will form a key part of your remit. You will propose and support the delivery of promotional strategies aligned with brand and commercial objectives, evaluating the effectiveness of promotions, sponsorships, and co-marketing initiatives. You will work closely with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to review in-store execution, assess competitor activity, and optimise performance at point of sale. Where required, you will provide the necessary information to support contractual agreements related to promotional activity.
You will be involved in commissioning and following up on research and insight projects that address both strategic and operational priorities. This may include studies exploring consumer habits, brand perception, and positioning, as well as pre- and post-campaign evaluations, packaging performance analysis, assortment reviews, and pricing assessments. You will translate insights and market data into clear, actionable recommendations, regularly monitoring sales and consumer KPIs and developing robust action plans to drive continuous improvement as well as developing New Product Developments (NPDs) will be pivotal to this role.
You bring strong brand marketing experience, ideally within FMCG or a similarly fast paced environment, and have a track record of delivering results across the full marketing mix as well as having prior experience in NPD is an advantage.
You are confident articulating brand strategy and translating it into impactful execution. You combine commercial awareness with analytical rigour, enabling you to interpret data, manage budgets effectively, and make informed decisions.
You are a skilled communicator in English with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across diverse teams and external partners. Experience managing projects, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders will support your success, as will your ability to prioritise, solve problems, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
We are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to succeed. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, identities, and abilities. If you are excited about this opportunity to shape our Seasonal and Exclusive Range brands but do not meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. Your perspective and potential matter to us.
