Senior Asset Surveyor

Senior Asset Surveyor
Kingsmead Office, East London
£61,766 - £65,017 per year
40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Senior Asset Surveyor to join our London Asset Team consisting of 12 people. The responsibilities of a Senior Asset Surveyor include, but are not limited to: manage Disrepair cases, reinvestment works, external and internal contractors, line manage Asset surveyors, undertake SCS, insurance claims, tenant improvement requests, large repairs, liaise with customers, colleagues/ stakeholders and other associated tasks required.
The role of Senior Asset Surveyor will include:
- Monitoring capital and revenue projects, consultants and contractors' performance and liaising with other departments to ensure work is carried out promptly and in accordance with contract specifications
- Carrying out inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital to ensure health and safety regulatory compliance and contract performance
- Identifying and commissioning targeted, value for money reinvestment plans to ensure the ongoing fit for purpose nature of the stock in support of Group objectives
- Managing contractors in accordance with their contractual terms, making recommendations for improvements and implementing actions as appropriate to ensure contract specifications continue to be met
- Ensuring investment works are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and make appropriate recommendations on changes that may need to be made mid-project to ensure full compliance and consistent delivery of services
- Producing appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders and providing accurate and timely information for management reports
- Managing works related to stock condition surveys and property inspections within agreed financial limits
- Managing the recruitment, performance, training and development of quality people to ensure required skilled employees are available to meet the needs of the service
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Member of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role and proven experience in a building and surveying environment
- Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practices and working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Experience of utilising the NHF schedule of rates with contractors and some experience in tendering, contract documentation and Construction Design and Management
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- Role salary is £47,035 with an additional policy allowance of £14,731 per annum (rising to £49,510 with an additional policy allowance of £15,506 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
