Access and Widening Participation Officer
Type of contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Salary: Grade 3, £30,068 - £33,842 + Benefits
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Access & Widening Participation Officer to support the delivery of programmes that widen access to conservatoire training for young people from under-represented backgrounds.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing and delivering impactful outreach initiatives, building partnerships across the education and arts sectors, and supporting the next generation of performers and theatre-makers to access world-class training.
Working closely with the Access & Widening Participation Manager, you’ll help coordinate and deliver a range of activities including workshops, outreach events, ambassador programmes and Shakespeare in Schools projects, while ensuring activity is effectively monitored and evaluated.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, youth arts organisations and sector partners across the UK
Coordinate and support outreach initiatives including Pathways, LAMDA Local and Shakespeare in Schools
Manage the Graduate Ambassador Scheme, including recruitment, training and allocation of ambassadors
Support the planning and delivery of workshops and events, both online and in person
Liaise with participants, teaching staff, alumni and external partners to ensure smooth programme delivery
Monitor and evaluate programme impact, including reporting on equality, diversity and participation data
Work collaboratively with Admissions and Marketing teams to promote opportunities and support targeted bursary initiatives
Provide financial and administrative support including contracts, invoices, timesheets and purchase orders
Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing and health and safety practices across all activity
About You
You’ll be passionate about access, inclusion and arts education, with excellent organisational and communication skills and experience coordinating projects or events. You’ll be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and committed to creating opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds.
Experience working in education, outreach, participation, youth arts or higher education environments would be advantageous.
