We’re looking for a people loving, smile serving Host to make every guest feel welcome at The Hoxton, Edinburgh.

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing a naturally friendly, helpful and responsive level of service to all our guests, ensuring they are treated as individuals and will want to return.

We’ve opened our doors in Edinburgh’s charming West End - our very first Hox in Scotland. Set across 11 beautiful Georgian townhouses, we’re home to 214 bedrooms, a lively open lobby and bar, an all-day Italian trattoria Patatino, a retro-inspired cinema, a flexible and super-size event space called The Get Together, and The Apartment – our unique signature spot for meetings, private dinners and memorable gatherings.

Patatino is our all-day Italian trattoria serving fresh pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and all the spritzes and Italian wines you could wish for. Inspired by the glam and romance of the sun-soaked Amalfi coast, it’s a spot for long, joyful meals with friends, where old-school charm meets modern design, with bold colours, cosy corners, and plenty of personality.

What you’ll do…

  • Provide a genuinely welcoming and memorable experience for our guests, from a Hox welcome, to handling any questions and helping out with requests.
  • Deal with the coming and going of guests, making sure all bills are correct and contain no surprises.
  • Work with all our teams to make sure we're always busy and help our restaurant team with any individual and group bookings.
  • Answer phones, sort out requests, give recommendations - you're the one-stop-shop for our guests to turn to.
  • Take reservations over the phone, handle cash and card payments and help out the team on the floor.
  • Master the use of the online reservation system and be sure to add all necessary information to reservations.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively provide solutions so that our guests’ expectations are not only met but exceeded.
