Purpose of the Role:

To provide a high quality claims advocacy service, with responsibility for ensuring the effective management and settlement of claims within our large and growing cargo and stock throughput portfolio . This includes:

• Cargo

• Project Cargo

• Stock Throughput

• Warehouse Keepers Legal Liability

A Claims Advocate is a strategic partner, focused on driving client success and business growth. They leverage expert communication, and persuasive insurance policy analysis to present compelling cases for to insurers of behalf of clients.

By anticipating potential challenges and addressing stakeholder concerns, they ensure optimal outcomes throughout the claim's lifecycle.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Main Responsibilities:

· Management and control of a variety of claims within the Cargo portfolio from first advice to final settlement.

· On receipt of claim notification- identify the risk, review details in conjunction with coverage/wording afforded, acknowledge to client/intermediary, prepare claims file accurately and promptly and maintain in-house computerised claims records.

· Producing claims information and presenting to insurers or clients, either in written or networked format; and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and enquiries.

· Monitoring insurers’ agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payment is made to the appropriate beneficiary.

· Reporting any claims difficulties immediately to management.

· Ensuring relevant insurer’s instructions are notified to Client/expert and vice versa.

· Building meaningful relationships with Clients, experts and insurers by dealing with them in a prompt, friendly and professional manner at all times.

· Ensuring effective liaison with placing colleagues, including, where required, the maintenance and provision of claims statistics for renewal or similar purposes. This also includes participating in the sales and onboarding process for potential new clients as requested by the business.

· Ensuring effective liaison with accounting colleagues both in respect of collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries.

· Keeping up to date with market and system changes. This includes building a strong market network within the energy claims community.

· Monitoring workload and reporting to management as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience:

3-5 years with a broker, insurer, or loss adjuster handling cargo stock throughput claims. Alternatively, we would consider someone with experience in other specialty lines, e.g., energy, FAJS or marine. We will also consider applicants without directly relevant insurance experience, if they demonstrate a strong desire to learn and develop their career in insurance.
