I am recruiting for an accomplished Financial Risk leader to shape and oversee risk strategy across a diverse portfolio spanning wholesale debt and equity investments. This is a high-impact role suited to someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong, collaborative leadership.

As Managing Director, you’ll guide the evolution of the organisation’s Financial Risk Framework, provide independent challenge on underwriting and valuations, and act as a voting member on key Investment Committees. You’ll lead a team of experienced risk professionals, fostering a supportive, empowering environment where high-quality thinking and inclusive decision?making thrive.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead financial risk oversight across structured finance, wholesale debt and equity investment products.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based challenge on investment proposals, valuation methodologies and portfolio risks.
  • Advise senior leadership on financial risk appetite and strategic risk considerations.
  • Evolve risk measurement tools, stress testing approaches and portfolio-level insight.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across investment, product and modelling teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in equity investment risk and wholesale debt risk across economic cycles.
  • Strong capability in evaluating complex, illiquid and structured investments.
  • A confident yet collaborative communication style, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • A leadership approach that values clarity, empathy, and team development.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience (professional qualifications advantageous).
