Warehouse Supervisor Night Shift
Our client, a well-established and fast-paced organisation within the FMCG wholesale and food distribution sector, is seeking a hands-on and organised Night Supervisor to lead warehouse operations and ensure high standards of service, quality, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of night shift operations within a time-critical environment.
Job Role
Reporting to the Senior Production Manager, the Night Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the night warehouse team, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfilment in line with customer expectations. You will lead operations across multiple departments, maintaining product quality, driving team performance, and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
This role operates on a night shift pattern with a rotating weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate night shift operations across multiple warehouse departments.
- Lead and allocate tasks across the team to ensure efficiency and performance targets are met.
- Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure adequate operational cover.
- Act as the main point of contact for night operations, liaising with internal teams.
- Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch processes to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Review and approve delivery routes prior to dispatch, managing any shortages or issues.
- Investigate picking errors and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring only compliant products are dispatched.
- Oversee goods-in checks, identifying any quality or quantity issues.
- Manage stock control processes, including rotation (FIFO) and stock accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety standards at all times.
Personal Profile
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role, ideally within FMCG or food distribution.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and dispatch processes.
- Knowledge of food safety and health & safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with good IT and systems skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on approach with a strong focus on teamwork, accuracy, and efficiency.
