People Advisor in London Area
Job description
Our Client, a leading professional services business is looking for a People Advisor, based in London.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery and continuous improvement of all internal people processes. As the first point of contact for HR-related queries, the People Advisor supports the full employee lifecycle; from onboarding and induction through to performance management, offboarding, and exit interviews - ensuring an efficient and consistent experience for all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR queries, providing timely and accurate guidance to employees and managers.
- Supporting with engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Office Management - Overseeing daily office operations, including scheduling, supplies management, vendor coordination, and ensuring a well-organised and efficient workplace
- Managing and overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, induction, performance management, offboarding, and exit processes.
- Provide expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance and consistency across the organisation.
- Support and drive initiatives that embed company values into daily practice, promoting a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged workplace culture.
- Contribute to the implementation of the People Plan and coordinate learning and development activities such as Lunch & Learns and internal training sessions.
- Assist with talent development initiatives to support growth and career progression across the business.
- Manage low-level employee relations cases, including probation reviews, maternity queries, and performance concerns, escalating where necessary.
- Support recruitment processes and talent acquisition where required.
- Maintain and update HR systems and records.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify process improvements and contribute to wider people strategy initiatives.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar People Advisor or generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and employee relations.
- Experience across core HR areas including onboarding, performance management, L&D, and basic ER case handling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset with a positive and flexible attitude.
- Experience using PeopleHR or a similar HRIS system/s.
- Exposure to cultural development and engagement initiatives.
- CIPD qualification or working towards one.
