Senior Casualty Broker - International

Harrison Holgate
London
Position Overview

I am working with a London based broking house who are seeking a highly capable Senior Casualty Broker to lead and grow an international portfolio of Casualty business. The ideal candidate will possess deep London Market expertise, a proven record of new business generation across multiple territories, and the ability to manage complex global programmes for multinational clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional client-facing capability, and leadership across broking, product development, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Growth & Business Development
  • Lead and expand a diverse international Casualty portfolio across the UK, US, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Middle East, and APAC.

  • Drive new business through:

    • Approaching existing internal clients not currently placing Casualty lines.

    • Developing new agency and broker relationships globally.

    • Implementing structured cross-selling strategies across business units.

  • Deliver targeted new business results each year, contributing directly to divisional revenue growth.

  • Identify coverage gaps and deliver innovative, market-leading solutions (e.g., re-structure or rewrite existing programs where required).

Broking & Market Placement
  • Act as lead broker on complex global CGL programmes for large multinational insureds with significant US and international exposures.

  • Manage broking strategy and execution for risks with cross-class considerations.

  • Maintain strong relationships with London market underwriters, MGAs, and capacity providers.

  • Place binder and delegated authority referrals, working across multiple market participants.

  • Serve as product lead or owner for specialist lines forming the primary point of contact for inbound placements.

Technical & Quality Management
  • Conduct peer review and provide final sign-off on all Casualty slips, endorsements, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Provide ad-hoc technical support to Property and Construction teams where expert oversight is required.

  • Stay current with regulatory frameworks (including EU placement requirements) and complete all required compliance training.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Lead and participate in high-level client meetings globally, preparing and hosting sessions for key accounts.

  • Develop strong multinational client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery.

  • Work closely with international offices (particularly US, Canada, Australia, and Europe) to facilitate aligned global broking strategies.

Leadership, Mentoring & Internal Engagement
  • Mentor junior team members, offering guidance on technical queries, client handling, and career development.

  • Participate actively in weekly management meetings, contributing insights on budget performance, market trends, capacity conditions, and emerging risks.

  • Encourage proactive collaboration and cross-selling within the organisation.
