£60,000 - £89,000 + package

A leading Big 4 R&D Tax Team are seeking a technically minded Tax Manager level candidate who has an intellectually curious nature to join our growing group in a role that combines:

• Supporting clients with the preparation and submission of Patent Box claims
• Advising on the interaction between Patent Box and other available tax incentives, including R&D tax relief , and helping clients navigate their broader IP landscape

This position sits at the intersection of corporate tax, specialist Patent Box knowledge, and commercial awareness, offering exposure to complex and rewarding projects within a high-growth area.

Key Responsibilities

Patent Box:

• Support a wide range of clients in preparing and delivering Patent Box claims, including:
• Assessing qualification requirements and facilitating technical and commercial discussions
• Mapping patents to qualifying products, processes, and income streams
• Preparing full Patent Box claim calculations, incorporating the Nexus regime principles
• Work collaboratively with corporate tax and R&D teams to support end-to-end claim filings
• Manage projects efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded
• Contribute to strategies for optimising and enhancing Patent Box claims
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted and proactive advisor
• Collaborate with colleagues across tax, finance, legal, and innovation teams

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working with the UK Patent Box regime
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and legal concepts clearly
• Confident working with multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients at all levels

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Exposure to other incentive regimes (UK or international)
• Familiarity with intellectual property rights, including patents, copyright, and marketing IP
