The Role

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Senior IBA Accounts Technician to lead IBA operations for our growing Reinsurance team in Singapore. This UK-based role (London or Southend office) will play a pivotal part in ensuring efficient, high-quality accounting support for internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead Singapore’s Reinsurance IBA function.
  • Ensure compliance with internal systems and controls, FCA Rules (including CASS 5.4), and financial crime prevention standards.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial processes to support business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all debts are collected promptly and liabilities settled within agreed credit terms.
  • Match all cash received as soon as possible.
  • Complete all processes accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers in an up-to-date and accurate manner.
  • Produce accurate and timely management information (regular and ad hoc).
  • Liaise regularly with other departments to resolve outstanding queries, particularly cash-related issues.
  • Chase outstanding cash under query with clients/underwriters weekly.
  • Prepare and dispatch statements of account in line with account holder requirements or divisional requests.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and accessible records.
  • Monitor client money payments to company stakeholders.
  • Notify relevant individuals of potential bad debt exposures at the earliest stage and escalate as appropriate.
  • Assist the IBA Department Manager with ad hoc tasks, duties, and projects.

Compliance:

  • Comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and Ardonagh compliance requirements.
  • Follow Errors & Omissions (E&O) procedures and escalate potential issues promptly to Divisional Directors and the Legal & Compliance team.

Knowledge Required:

  • Strong knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers.
  • In-depth understanding of FCA Rules CASS 5.4.
  • Good knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles.
  • Familiarity with banking methods and accounting principles.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the insurance sector.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Confident and effective telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written communication skills tailored to business needs.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data input.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Desirable: Experience with Open Twins, Brokasure Desktop, Global XB, and DXC platforms.
