Attendance Officer
A prestigious Independent School in the London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who understands the vital role attendance plays in student achievement, wellbeing and safeguarding. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting excellent attendance and punctuality while supporting students and families to overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities will include monitoring daily attendance, conducting first-day absence calls, maintaining accurate attendance records and analysing attendance data to identify patterns and concerns. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, parents and external agencies to implement effective attendance strategies and interventions.
The role will involve preparing attendance reports, coordinating attendance meetings and ensuring that school attendance procedures are consistently applied. You will also contribute to safeguarding processes where attendance concerns may indicate wider welfare issues.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and the confidence to build positive relationships with students and families.
