External Funding Officer
About the role
We are looking for an External Funding Officer to join the Policy, Project and Improvement team. You will be expected to work across the Council, supporting services to successfully secure increased levels of external funding. As part of this role, you will be expected: - To lead a proactive, strategic horizon scanning function to identify and assess current and emerging external funding opportunities aligned with council priorities.- To work with services across the Council and develop partnerships to strengthen bid prospects and maximise funding outcomes.
- To provide clear recommendations to services, using data and expertise, on whether they should bid for external funding.
- To develop and manage data on planned and active bids and application success rates, to develop a clear picture of performance to present to senior managers and members.
- To identify, broker and manage strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to strengthen the Council’s funding bids and project delivery. This is a permanent full-time appointment, primarily based at Enfield Civic Centre, London EN1. Flexible working requests will be given consideration. About you We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a commitment to making a difference to our borough. You will need proven experience in securing external funding, ideally for a local authority. You will need comprehensive knowledge of major UK, regional and NGO funding programmes and emerging funding initiatives, in the wider context of central government policies. You will need excellent communication skills and able to build relationships with senior stakeholders and elected members, providing evidence-based recommendations for bidding decisions. You will be able to manage competing priorities and have strong project management experience.
