Objective of the role: Airfinity is looking for a passionate and driven Researcher to join our dynamic Infectious Diseases team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the scientific and commercial intelligence we deliver to leading organisations across the infectious disease landscape. As part of our team, you will conduct rigorous research and in-depth analysis, proactively enhancing our infectious disease analytics to generate insights that truly make a difference. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with clients, translating complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations that inform strategic decisions.
This is a unique opportunity to deliver high-impact intelligence reports and forecasts, contribute to cutting-edge projects, and play a key role in advancing our understanding of global infectious disease challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior team members to produce detailed intelligence reports across the infectious diseases and custom analytics space for clients.
Develop deep infectious disease expertise to drive trial tracking, evaluate candidates, and identify whitespace opportunities that inform and enhance client decision-making.
Serve as a trusted scientific partner to clients, providing infectious disease expertise and engaging in tailored project discussions to address their specific needs.
Conduct thorough research and analysis on emerging scientific developments in various infectious disease areas, including epidemiology, vaccines and treatments analytics.
Annotate and enhance scientific information with critical data points and impact metrics.
Utilise data visualisation tools to present analyses clearly and effectively.
Deliver powerful, tailored insights through well-crafted, client-ready reports and presentations.
Gain proficiency with our proprietary life science database.
Independently manage bespoke research tasks and contribute to project planning and execution.
Present research findings and strategic insights clearly to both internal stakeholders and clients.
Skills and Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree in a scientific field focusing on infectious diseases. PhD preferred or equivalent experience will be considered.
Expertise and a strong interest in scientific research and infectious diseases.
Comfortable using, or willing to learn, AI tools to enhance research workflows and insight generation.
Experience in data visualisation and storytelling, including building dashboards and reports.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with R, SQL, Python, or equivalent tools is beneficial.
Ability to deliver high-quality outputs efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Fluency in oral and written English, with the ability to communicate scientific and technical information effectively.
