About Honest Burgers:
At Honest Burgers, we’re not just another burger joint — we’re a team of food lovers who take real pride in what we serve. Our current CPU is the heart of our business. It’s where the magic happens — from homemade burger patties to rosemary salted chips and everything in between. We believe that great food starts with quality ingredients, passion, and a hands-on approach. That’s why we make the majority of our menu from scratch.
We’ve also just secured a brand new 17,000sqft location which will be a state of the art facility capable of getting us to 100 locations. We have a custom made 32m long semi autonomous chipping line, a Reiser specification butchery line, and brand new cooking and packing equipment going into our kitchen production space. There will also be an L&D training space and a menu development kitchen on site.
The role:
As our Head of Honest CPU , you’ll be in charge of leading our central prep kitchen operations — ensuring everything we make is consistently high quality, safe, and delicious. You’ll play a key part in keeping our restaurant fridges full, inspiring your team, and delivering on our commitment to honest, homemade cooking.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on kitchen environment, has a strong operational mindset, a wealth of CPU experience and genuinely loves food.
About You:
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior kitchen or production kitchen role – ideally in a scratch-cooking or central kitchen environment.
- Passionate about honest, simple, delicious food.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a diverse team.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a clear eye for detail and consistency.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving kitchen environment.
- A problem-solver with a cool head and a can-do attitude.
- Direct experience with maintenance management of complex machinery.
- Level 4 Food Safety qualification.
- Management experience in SALSA or BRC accredited facilities.
Areas of responsibility:
- Monitor and maintain food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all health & safety regulations.
- Lead and manage day-to-day prep kitchen operations with a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Oversee production of all food items produced.
- Manage a team of experienced department managers, captains and chefs – hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating.
- Collaborate with the Director of Food and Head of Food to improve and evolve recipes and prep processes.
- Ensure accuracy on forecasting for stock and ordering, and reduce waste through smart kitchen practices.
- Identify opportunities for improving kitchen workflow, reducing costs, and increasing output without compromising quality.
- Help transition from current site to a new state of the art facility.
We believe in equal access to support and opportunity that exists for all. We celebrate our differences and want you to help us to continually strive for diversity, inclusivity and a warm welcome for everyone.
This means your name, age, race or gender doesn’t need to be on your CV. If you’d rather take it off, that’s good with us.
