ASB Officer
3 months contract with local authority
The role focuses on delivering exemplary customer service by addressing and resolving cases of anti-social behavior (ASB) to enhance the quality of life for residents. This position requires a proactive and responsive approach, adhering to the Council’s ASB policies and procedures. The role is primarily office-based and involves collaboration with local communities and partner agencies to effectively manage ASB issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of ASB cases to gather credible evidence and determine appropriate interventions.
- Utilize prevention, diversionary, and enforcement mechanisms to stop ASB, ensure witness safety, and prevent recurrence.
- Draft high-quality investigative documents, including officer statements and affidavits, for use in trials.
- Prepare court bundles, draft court orders, and liaise with legal advisors and court personnel.
- Represent the Council in court proceedings.
- Keep customers and stakeholders informed about case progress with timely and accurate responses.
- Undertake risk assessments and make referrals to relevant support services for vulnerable victims and perpetrators.
- Address breaches of leasehold/tenancy conditions and take necessary actions.
- Gather intelligence and evidence for enforcement actions against ASB and drug-related activities.
- Collaborate with police, enforcement officers, and partner agencies to resolve ASB incidents.
- Develop patrol plans with ASB Estate team members to address ASB hotspots.
- Work with the Metropolitan Police and Integrated Enforcement Team on community safety initiatives.
- Assist in developing and delivering ASB-related projects and improving the ASB service.
- Promote equality and meet the diverse needs of residents and staff.
- Contribute to the council’s priorities and outcomes, fostering a ‘one organisation’ approach.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and communities.
- Support organizational change and learning, promoting innovation and accountability.
- Adhere to the council’s health, safety, and welfare policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in investigating and managing ASB cases.
- Strong understanding of ASB policies, procedures, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to draft high-quality legal documents and represent the Council in court.
- Experience in collaborating with law enforcement and partner agencies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and referral processes for support services.
