The Integrated Medicine Care Group comprises of the Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) (Medical and Frailty), Acute, General, Gerontology and Stroke Medicine. The care group has recently made some significant improvements to the standards of care and our operational efficiencies with more innovative pathways and ideas to implement, and the Lead Nurse will play a big part of in these. The post holder will be responsible for leadership across all areas within the care group.
To provide timely, efficient and effective operational management support for the Care Group nursing team, assisting the Senior Head of Nursing, Clinical Director and General Manager to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible standard.
To provide nursing leadership and assist the Senior Head of Nursing in supporting and line managing defined Clinical Nurse Specialists and Matrons.
To take forward agreed projects, improving service delivery in key areas. To lead on ensuring that performance targets and quality standards are met. To problem solve as appropriate and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues. To be a key member of the Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.
Please note this is a 3 month secondment.
Main duties of the job
