We’re Pentland Brands; a dynamic, global family business, and proud owners and licensees of many iconic active and footwear brands. With a community of over 1,300 team members worldwide, we embrace diversity and inclusion, and champion growth and development. Our success is built on teamwork, courage, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

The Senior Apparel Designer - Everyday & Icons plays a crucial role in ensuring our lifestyle and everyday apparel fits beautifully, wears comfortably, and is built with consistent quality and craftsmanship. Working within the Product Creation team, this role combines deep garment engineering expertise with an understanding of modern consumer expectations around comfort, silhouette, versatility, and durability.

The mission is to lead technical development across Everyday Apparel—supporting the creation of products that feel effortless, look contemporary, and deliver reliable quality from concept through production.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As our Senior Apparel Designer - Everyday & Icons you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the fit and technical development process across Everyday Apparel categories (e.g., fleece, jersey, woven tops, bottoms, outerwear, lifestyle layers).

  • Developing, evolving, and maintaining fit blocks, grading rules, and construction standards tailored to lifestyle and casual silhouettes.

  • Translating design concepts into accurate, production-ready technical specifications, ensuring feasibility without compromising the intended aesthetic.

  • Conducting fit sessions on live models, mannequins, or 3D avatars, identifying fit issues and implementing pattern corrections that enhance comfort and silhouette.

  • Creating and maintaining detailed tech packs, specifications, BOM details, and all PLM data to support accurate and timely development.

  • Reviewing prototypes and SMS samples, giving advanced technical input to refine construction, finishing, stitch types, and material behaviour.

  • Evaluating fabrics, trims, and washes for suitability, performance, and quality, advising cross-functional teams during material selection.

  • Collaborating closely with Designers, Product Managers, and Development teams to ensure designs meet brand, quality, cost, and sustainability expectations.

  • Partnering with global vendors and sourcing teams to troubleshoot technical challenges and maintain alignment throughout development.

  • Driving quality and fit consistency across the Everyday Apparel range, recommending improvements to processes, standards, and best practices.

  • Supporting junior team members with guidance, technical expertise, and feedback where required.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?

You just might be our next superstar if you have the following skills and experience:

  • You have a degree in relevant design fields: Fashion, Sport, Industrial and Graphic Design, or equivalent experience, and have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in a professional environment

  • Strong understanding of pattern making, fit, grading, construction, and fabric behaviour across multiple apparel categories.

  • Proficiency in all Adobe CC; Clo3D or similar; PLM systems.

  • Deep knowledge of knit and woven construction, seam types, finishing techniques, trims, and fastenings used in lifestyle apparel.

  • Ability to translate design intent into technically sound, commercially viable garments while maintaining brand handwriting.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Design, Product Management, Development, and global sourcing teams.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Are passionate about sustainability and have experience implementing environmentally responsible material strategies.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate technical information clearly across teams.

  • Proven people management and coaching/mentoring skills

  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and drive effective technical solutions.

  • Passion for creating quality everyday garments that offer comfort, utility, and timeless style.

We want you to live our company principles, bringing a strong consumer focus, while always looking for ways to improve and grow in your role. Take ownership of your work and be proactive in solving problems whilst communicating openly and treating everyone with respect and kindness. And, of course, let your creativity shine by bringing your unique style and individuality to the Pentland Brands Team.
