Infrastructure Engineer - 6-month contract - Remote

My Customer is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Wintel Server environments, VMware, and Nutanix to join their growing IT team. This is a hands-on role suited for a technically skilled individual with deep expertise in building and supporting modern, enterprise-scale infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining critical infrastructure systems, ensuring performance, resilience, and security across their platforms. Your experience with NSX-T, cloud platforms, and operational technology (OT) environments will be especially valuable.

Key Requirements from the Infrastructure Engineer:

* Proven experience in enterprise Wintel Server administration
* Strong knowledge of VMware technologies
* Hands-on experience building Nutanix environments
* Solid understanding and experience with NSX-T
* Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) environments (beneficial)
* Experience with SCCM, SolarWinds, and enterprise monitoring tools
* Understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer:

* Build, configure, and manage Wintel Server environments (Windows 7, 10, Server 2003, 2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2019)
* Deploy and Support scalable Nutanix infrastructure solutions
* Manage and optimize VMware virtual environments
* Implement and maintain NSX-T network virtualization solutions
* Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure systems using SolarWinds
* Perform diagnostics, event log analysis, and advanced troubleshooting
* Assist with cloud platform integrations and migrations (e.g., Azure, AWS)
* Support and maintain enterprise systems using SCCM
* Leverage Unix/Linux fundamentals for cross-platform administration
* Collaborate with IT and OT teams to support operational technology systems

The Infrastructure Engineer role is mostly remote with ad hoc travel to sites in South East of the UK.
